Today we looked at different examples of different Animal Farm book covers to get an idea of how many ways it's possible to show one concept. I found this really helpful as I tend to get stuck into one design and just focus on that. It's important for me to remember to broaden my view and ideate more possibilities before I get stuck into one.
The exercise in class involved looking at different posters all depicting a head but in very different ways. We defined each poster as one word and brainstormed what kind of issues regarding inequality we could show with the same image. I found this really helpful as well, it inspired me and gave me a better sense of the possibilities, we can alter almost any image to depict our concept.
Defined: Denying homelessness/ ignoring the issue/ ignoring the homeless
I found some images related to 'Invisibility', 'Marginalisation' and 'Ignoring' to better help my ideation.
My own take:
Not very strong, tag line doesn't quite work "Am I invisible?" - answer is yes with that image so doesn't really say anything.
Critique with Jacquie:
The first person writing is good, that headline really strong. Use some kind of 'spotlight' device, i.e. play with lighting the character/fading it into background? Needs to be a bit more human, skeletons don't talk. Keep playing with this concept, potentially very strong, back up with logos
